Chlorine (Cl2) is a yellow-green toxic gas. The most common chlorine compound is sodium chloride. Chlorine is soluble in water approx. 2.4 volume of chlorine in 1 volume of water. Chlorine is a component of selevral natural compounds as phomopsine, termorigenic mycotoxins and ochratoxins. When the chlorine atom gain an electron the chloride ion (Cl-) is created.
